CLIENT OVERVIEW

Our client is a multinational food manufacturer with a strong presence in the consumer goods sector, specializing in pet food production. Headquartered in Osaka, Japan, the company employs over 5,000 people worldwide and is a trusted brand in both Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region. With a reputation for quality and a passion for food innovation, the company has steadily expanded its footprint across multiple countries, aiming to serve diverse consumer needs while maintaining its Japanese heritage of excellence.

CHALLENGE

As the business continued to grow rapidly across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, the client recognized that success in new and existing markets hinged on having strong commercial leadership in place. To sustain growth, they needed senior leaders capable of navigating local markets, building partnerships, and driving revenue.

However, the client faced a significant challenge:

  • A need for localized leadership across multiple countries simultaneously.

  • The urgency to secure country managers in India, Indonesia, and Malaysia, where operations were expanding quickly.

  • The requirement for key account managers and business development professionals in Japan and Korea to strengthen relationships with distributors and accelerate sales.

With no internal recruitment capacity able to handle such a large-scale, multi-country hiring project, the client turned to Avomind to act as their strategic recruitment partner.

SOLUTION

Avomind designed and executed a comprehensive recruitment strategy to support the client’s regional expansion. We began by aligning closely with their leadership team to understand each market’s specific needs, from the cultural nuances of hiring in Southeast Asia to the competitive dynamics of the Japanese consumer goods sector.

Our approach was multi-layered:

  • In India, Indonesia, and Malaysia, we identified and hired three seasoned Country Managers with proven track records in leading consumer goods businesses and scaling market operations.

  • In Japan, we built out the client’s commercial strength by hiring four Key Account Managers capable of managing relationships with distributors and ensuring market penetration.

  • In Japan and Korea, we recruited four Junior Business Development Managers to support sales growth and prepare the next generation of commercial leaders.

Throughout the process, Avomind emphasized not only technical skills but also a passion for the food industry and alignment with the company’s values. Our screening process ensured that candidates were motivated not just by commercial goals but also by the company’s mission of delivering high-quality food products.

OUTCOME

Within months, the client had a fully staffed regional commercial leadership structure in place. With dedicated Country Managers driving operations in India, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and a robust commercial team in Japan and Korea, the company gained the agility and leadership capacity to pursue ambitious growth targets across the Asia-Pacific.

The hires immediately strengthened the client’s market responsiveness, distributor relationships, and sales execution capabilities, providing a strong foundation for sustained expansion in one of the most competitive consumer goods markets in the world.
